CPNE forms press council committee

KARACHI, Sept 24: Secretary-General Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors (CPNE), Dr. Jabbar Khattak, has announced formation of a committee to look into the issues related to formation of the Pakistan Press Council.

In a press release issued here on Wednesday, the secretary-general said that president CPNE Mir Shakilur Rehman would be the convener of the committee, whereas editor of The Nation and Nawa-i-Waqt, Mr Arif Nizami, would be its alternative convener.

Members of the committee include chief editor Business Recorder M. A. Zuberi, chief editor Millat Gujrati, Inqilab Matri, editor Urdu Digest Altaf Hussain Qureshi, editor urdu daily Pakistan (Lahore) Mujibur Rehman Shami, chief editor Zamana (Quetta) Syed Fasih Iqbal and chief editor Qaumi Akhbar Ilyas Shakir.
