MIRPURKHAS, Sept 24: The superintendent of district prison, Mirpurkhas, Rashid Saeed, has said that since the jail had become extremely overcrowded, four prisoners had recently been shifted to the Hyderabad jail under strict security cover.
Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday, he said that four dangerous prisoners were shifted to the central prison, Hyderabad, from the district prison as they had been creating problems for the officials.
He said that their names were Gul Hassan, Abdul Qadir, Tahir and Mohammad Hussain.
He said that currently there were 208 prisoners in the district prison against the official capacity of 75.
HESCO: The chief executive, Hesco, Brig (retd) Tariq Arshad, has said that Rs55 million had been utilized on the maintenance of electricity during the last two years in Mirpurkhas district.
He said that Rs15 million was spent last year for providing electricity to 22 villages of the district, and added that 50 more villages would be provided electricity during the current year.
He said that under a scheme the poor villagers would also be provided electricity on cheap rates.
