BD opposition slams India’s river plan

By Our Correspondent

DHAKA, Sept 24: The opposition parties at a roundtable conference on Wednesday said that if India’s massive river linking project was implemented, India will unilaterally control the water of 34 rivers flowing into Bangladesh.

“The outcome of the project would be devastating for Bangladesh,” they observed at the roundtable organised by Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD).

Addressing the discussion, the Awami League general secretary, Abdul Jalil MP, said his party is dead against the proposed river-linking project of India.
