PCB boss praises ‘Portraits of the Game’

KARACHI, Sept 23: Chairman, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Lt. Gen Tauqir Zia on Tuesday appreciated the cricket passion of Shyam Bhatia and lauded his contribution in shape of “Portraits of the Game” a book about many of the cricketing greats.

“Its contain a lot of useful information and it can be good companion” he said while speaking at the launch of the book.

He however ridiculed his own players by saying that they don’t know English and book should be translated in Urdu for their reading.

The 136-page book produced by Mirpurkhas-born Dubai-based businessman Shyam Bhatia contained sketches of 60 great cricketers.

Bhatia said the money generated from the book will be spent to promote and develop cricket in under privilege class of Pakistan and India.

He said he was planning to hold launching of this book in Bangladesh, Australia and the West Indies in coming months.

The illustrations and sketches were specially drawn for the book by famous South African artist Ritchie Ryall while Indian journalist Kishore Bhimani gave final shape to all interviews.—APP
