Newsmen told to work for promotion of Islam
PESHAWAR, Sept 23: Iranian Consul-General Mohammad Hassan Imami said on Tuesday that incidents like 9/11 could not affect the friendly relations between Pakistan and Iran.
Speaking at the “Meet the Press” programme of the Peshawar Press Club, he said Pakistan and Iran had very old and friendly cultural, religious and diplomatic relations of historical nature.
The diplomat urged journalists to utilize their talent for the promotion of Islam and the Ummah.
Asked whether journalists in Iran were enjoying freedom, he said there were no restriction except for a few of religious nature. Elaborating, he said no one had right to malign people without a proper proof. He said there were laws to restrict newsmen to follow truth and Islamic teachings.—PPI
