Increase in school registration fee flayed

By Our Correspondent

MINGORA, Sept 23: The Private Schools Management Association (PSMA) has reiterated its stand against the government’s decision to increase registration fees of private educational institutions.

This was stated in a meeting of the PSMA held at Khushaal Public school here on Tuesday. Largely attended by office bearers of the association, the meeting was presided over by chairman of the executive council of the PSMA Ahmad Shah.

The speakers demanded that the governor and other authorities of the education department should make efforts to withdraw the decision, otherwise they would not pay the fee announced recently by the provincial governor.

Meanwhile, MNA Amir Muqam has asked the provincial government to avoid introducing new taxes in the Malakand division as it is a tax-free zone. He has also expressed his concern over the imposition of taxes on private schools.

Talking to a delegation of the PSMA Swat at his residence here on Tuesday the MNA said the Malakand division was a backward area where the  people could not afford exorbitant fees.
