KARACHI: Asif’s parole sought

KARACHI, Sept 23: The Sindh High Court issued notices to federal and provincial government law officers on Tuesday in a petition seeking Asif Ali Zardari’s release on parole for two days to enable him to attend the wedding of his niece.

Petitioner Faryal Talpur, sister of Mr Zardari, submitted through Advocates Akhter Hussain and Abu Bakr Zardari that her daughter, Tania, would be getting married on Sept 26.

Tania’s father, Munawar Ali Talpur, was sick and her grandfather, Hakim Ali Zardari, was abroad. Mr Zardari being the eldest in the family should be present at the wedding.

Justice Shabbir Ahmed issued notices to the advocate-general and a deputy attorney-general for Sept 24. — Staff Reporter
