MIRPURKHAS: Water level in Mithrao rises

MIRPURKHAS, Sept 23: Higher authorities have directed the director, Nara Canal, to ensure the required water level in the Mithrao head to overcome water shortage in Kunri Taluka.

The directives were issued after the Taluka Nazim, Kunri, Jam Memon, drew the attention of the authorities towards the water shortage.

The recent water shortage at the tail of different distributaries of Nabisar branch led to protests by growers.

Following the directives, the water level has reached the 14-ft mark at the head of the Mithrao Canal with the result that water is being supplied to the Nabisar branch to overcome the water shortage.

ONE INJURED: A youth, Madad Ali Shar, was seriously injured in an armed attack over a land dispute near Bachao Bund on Sunday.

He was injured when his uncle, Shahnawaz, and his henchmen opened fire on him. He was taken to the Civil Hospital.

The Shadi Palli police have registered a case against three men.

WELFARE CENTRES: The Population Welfare department has set up about 22 welfare centres in the district where people would be given medicines and advice about family planning, mother and child health care.

This was stated by the district officer, Population Welfare department, Qurban Bhayo, in an official handout issued on Monday.

FORGERY CASE: The Town police have registered a case against seven people, including a dead ASI of the Mirpurkhas police and a notary public advocate, on charges of forgery for preparing a fake affidavit.

One of the accused, Rahim Bux Hingoro, was arrested and remanded to judicial custody by the court.

Syed Jafar Hussain Shah had registered a case with the Town police, saying that he had rented his house to Ali Sher Hingoro, an ASI of the Mirpurkhas police, in Jamnadas Colony in 1992. The ASI had defaulted after paying the rent for some years.

He said that later a fake affidavit was prepared by him, his wife, Sakina, Roshan Hingoro, Rahim Bux Hingoro, Hussain Kori and others.
