KARACHI, Sept 23: The Examinations Department, University of Karachi, on Tuesday announced results of BA Part I & II (Overseas) external annual examination, 2002, held at various senators in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Muscat and the United Arab Emirates.
According to the statistics, only once candidate appeared and was declared successful in BA part-I at Abu Dhabi centre, while some four candidates appeared at Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) centre and two of them were declared passed.
Six candidates appeared in BA part-I exams at Muscat centre, of which five were declared passed, while nine candidates appeared at Bahrain centre and five of them were declared successful.
Some six out of seven candidates, who appeared in part-II exams at Doha centre (Qatar) were declared passed, while eight out 10 candidates who appeared in part-I at the same centre were also declared passed.
About 38 candidates appeared in BA Part-II exams, held at Jeddah Centre (Saudi Arabia), of whom 36 were declared passed, whereas 45 candidates appeared in BA Part-I exams at the same centre, of which 32 were declared passed by the department.
MONITORING BODY: Vice-Chancellor, University of Karachi, Dr Zafar Saeed Saify, on Tuesday constituted a committee to monitor the educational and research standards of the KU evening programme students and to prepare its recommendations for improvement.
Director, KU Evening Program, Dr Moinuddin Aqeel, has been made convener of the committee, whereas Dr Afrozuddin, Mohammad Shahid Qureshi, Prof Sarwar Nasim and director, BCC & T, are its members.
The committee will mainly prepare recommendations for redressing problems of students and improving educational and research standards, besides monitoring facilities being provided to the students.—PPI
