KARACHI, Sept 22: A teenage girl committed suicide in Korangi on Monday.
Police said that Sharish, 13, hanged herself from the ceiling fan in her house in Sector 51-C of Korangi. The girl resorted to such extreme action after quarrelling with her sister, police said.
Her body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy. Following the examination, her body was handed over to the family for burial.
KILLED: Unknown persons killed a young boy and dumped his body in front of his house in Baldia Town.
According to the police, the body of Yasin, 14, was thrown in front of his house in Mohajir Camp, Baldia Town on Monday afternoon. The body with stab wounds was shifted to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Police could not immediately ascertain the motive behind the killing.
In Steel Town, the headless body of a young woman was found on Monday. Police said that unidentified persons had chopped off her head and dumped the body into bushes. The body was shifted to the JPMC for post-mortem examination.
According to the area police, her clothes were soaked in blood and the body was at least one day old. “From her appearance, the woman seemed to be a destitute or a beggar,” said a police official.
ARRESTED: Police have arrested three men wanted in several murder cases.
A police party, led by ASP Garden Fayyaz Ahmed Sumbal, raided and arrested Kashif, Tahir Usman and Rana Aslam Mustafa on late Sunday night. A large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from their possession.
ASP Fayyaz said that the suspected men had confessed killing Dr Zia Qamar on Feb 2, 2003 within the limits of Soldier Bazar police station.
He said that the victim had returned from Dubai to attend the death anniversary of his wife. On his return from graveyard, Dr Zia was robbed of 8,000 Saudi Riyals, four cell phone sets and other valuables, the ASP recalled.
Police said that the suspected men had links with some professional killers for whom police were looking for.
SKETCH: Police have issued the sketch of a suspect involved in the bombing of Kawish Crown Plaza.
The ten-storey building was shaken on Friday evening when a bomb went off at its 10th floor damaging offices and fixtures of the building. The sketch, issued on Monday, had been prepared with the help of some eyewitnesses, police said.
