MIRPURKHAS, Sept 21: The chairman, farmers organisation, Palli and Saeedki distributaries, secretary and others growers were found involved in water theft during a visit of the area by the irrigation officials.

Sources told this correspondent that executive engineer, Mithrao division, Faiz Mohammad Memon, and assistant executive engineer Sindhri sub-division, Ghulam Mustafa Ujjan, visited the area and found several growers involved in the water theft by tempering with modules of watercourses.

The accused farmers included farmers organization chairman Javed Junejo, secretary Mohammad Hashim Dars, and others

A report in this connection had been furnished to the director, Nara Canal Area Water Board, recommending legal action against the farmers.
