Two shot dead in twin cities

RAWALPINDI, Sept 19: Two persons, including a woman, were killed in separate incidents in the twin cities on Friday.

Mohammad Ijaz, a milkman, was shot dead allegedly by his rival over a marital dispute in Lalazar Colony, police said.

Preliminary investigation suggested that Ijaz was engaged to his cousin and their marriage was scheduled to be held on September 28. However, another person, Arshad, also wanted to marry the girl, and after failing to achieve his objective, he went into distress and killed Ijaz.

In another incident, a 40-year-old woman was killed after being shot ‘accidentally’ by her husband at Kokna Kalan Village of Daman-i-Koh, the police said.

While quoting the victim’s husband, Ashraf, the police said he was cleaning his gun when all of a sudden it went off, killing his wife Suriya on the spot.

Meanwhile, beheaded body of a woman, who is said to in her 30s, was found near a drain in Dhoke Chaudhrian on Friday.

A Reporter from Pindi Adds: A tractor driver was killed in an accident while an assistant sub-inspector was injured after his motorcycle slipped on Daman-i-Koh road in Islamabad, police said on Friday.

In the first incident, Hazir Baloch, a resident of Okara, was killed when his tractor overturned on Lehtrar Road.

In another incident, ASI Mohammad Sarwar, a patrolling officer posted at Daman-i-Koh, suffered multiple injuries when his motorcycle slipped while he was trying to save a pedestrian, the police said.
