GUJRAT, Sept 18: A class nine student was allegedly kidnapped for Rs1 million ransom from the Lalamusa city area.

According to the FIR, Ali Nasir son of Fazal Dad, a resident of Chokorry Bheelowal, was going to vegetable market on Sept 15 when he was kidnapped. Later, the kidnappers phoned the family demanding Rs1 million ransom.

The family alleged that SHO Raja Zahid Nazir registered the case after a delay of more than two days and took no step to arrest the kidnappers despite the fact that he was given the telephone number from where the felons called them.

They claimed that the SHO asked them to contact Kharian police for registration of a case. However, he registered the case on the orders of his high ups.
