In this regard, the visiting Claim Consultant from the International Maritime Organization, John Maxwell, would be assist the sub-committee comprising representatives of the Karachi Port Trust, Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (charters), Protection and Industry Club (ship-owners), City District Government Karachi and Defence Housing Authority as well as the Sindh environment secretary.

A decision to this effect was taken at the meeting of Coordination Committee, established on the directives of President Musharraf, which was held under the chairmanship of the provincial Chief Secretary Dr Mutawakkil Qazi.
