LAHORE, Sept 17: Indian Olympic Association (IOC) secretary general, Raja Randhir Singh, has suggested that province to province level games between Pakistan and India should also be organised as it would not only promote regional sports but also the interest of people.
Talking to reporters at a local hotel, Randhir who is here to attend the SASF meeting scheduled on Thursday, said that as a first step the Eastern (India) and Western Punjab (Pakistan) should compete in sports.
He said that exchange of teams at country to country level was good practice but it should also be increased to grass root level and the provinces were the right platform for it.
He said that the standard of sports like kabaddi, wrestling, swimming and athletics could be raised by holding competition at Punjab level.
He said that he would talk to his Punjab Olympic Association on this point.
