SAHIWAL, Sept 17: A student is reported killed and 10 others, including a labourer, injured when the roof of a classroom of a school caved in on Wednesday in Chak 89/6-R here.

A labourer, Salim, was working on the roof when it caved in. He suffered serious injuries and admitted to hospital. Four-year-old Arham was killed while the seriously injured students Nawaz, 8, Rizwan, 7, Aqsa, 7, and Aisha, 6, were taken to hospital. Other injured were discharged after providing first aid.

It is learnt that the school was started by Ms Razia in Chak 87/6-R and registered it with the education department.

But she shifted the school to her newly constructed building in Chak 89/6-R. However, the buildings department did not clear the building for the purpose due to the use of substandard material in the construction.
