KARACHI: Elderly man found dead

KARACHI, Sept 17: Unknown persons killed an elderly man in Catholic Colony on Wednesday.

Police said that the staff of the neighbouring Quaid-i-Azam Academy and a lab informed the police helpline of stench emanating from the house.

Police came, opened the house and found the trussed up body of an elderly man with strangulation marks on his neck. Police said that the body was several days old and was in the stage of decomposing. The victim was identified as Mumtaz, 70.

The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.

In another incident, two brothers were killed near Mawagh goth late Tuesday night. Police said that Arif, 35, and Hanif, 30, both brothers used to consume charas at Qasim Ali Mazar in Moachko police limits.

According to police, Majeed had objected on their activity. He along with his two associates attacked the two brothers with sharp edged weapons. Arif died on Tuesday night while Hanif died during treatment at the hospital. Later, police arrested the accused Majeed.
