KARACHI, Sept 17: An election tribunal headed by Justice Muhammad Moosa K. Leghari of Sindh High Court, on Wednesday, ordered recounting of votes in constituency PS-45, Hyderabad.

The tribunal was hearing an election petition filed by Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s losing candidate Muhammad Farooq Qureshi against MPA of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal Abdul Rehman Rajput, in which he challenged the results of constituency and prayed to declare these void.

Both the returned candidates Rehman Rajput of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) and Farooq Qureshi of Muttahida Qaumi Movement agreed upon recounting of votes. With the consent of both parties, the tribunal passed an order, giving direction to the Election Commission officers, for recounting of votes and to submit the report before the court.—APP/PPI
