PESHAWAR, Sept 16: NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah said on Tuesday that the Kohat-Khushal Garh and Kohat-Hangu sections of the Rawapindi-Kohat-Parachinar road were being dualized under a phased programme and the work on progress up to Indus Highway was being extended to Gumbat.

Talking to a 15-member representative delegation of the Kohat Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Tuesday at the Circuit House, Kohat Township, after having a detailed inspection of the road, the governor also said that all necessary steps had been taken to make this road of an international standard.

Besides MPA Syed Kalb-i-Hassan, Managing-director of the Frontier Highway Authority Habib Ali, DIG Ghulam Muhammad, SSP Abid Ali were also present on this occasion.

Expressing deep concern over the slow pace of work on the project, the governor directed the authorities concerned to ensure proper and timely utilization of the allocations made for it.

As far as the Kohat-Hangu section is concerned, he said documentation process of this project should be carried out simultaneously for which the funds would be arranged by next year.
