MIRPURKHAS, Sept 15: The Atta Chakki Association has announced that its members will not purchase wheat from food department in protest against less than allotted supply of wheat to the flour mills.

The association also accused the food department of supplying infected wheat to the flour mills.

The association hoisted banners at different places in the city against the food department.

In a press statement, the chairman of the association, Liaquat Ali Qureshi, accused the food officials of providing infected wheat from the old stocks to the flour mills.

He demanded of the Sindh chief minister that he should take notice of the situation and ensure full supply of fresh wheat to the flour mills.

ACCIDENT: A woman and a 12-year-old girl were killed near here on Monday when a speedy truck loaded with cotton hit a tractor trolley carrying labourers including women.

As the truck hit the tractor trolley, the latter overturned near Sohrab Shakh, 50 km off here.

As a result Ms Soomri, 20, and Rani, 12, daughter of Sodho, residents of Pithoro, died on the spot whereas Mohammad Urs Chohan sustained injuries and was rushed to the rural health centre, Pithoro.
