By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 15: Nine ships carrying, coal, soyabean meal and steel coils are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves is expected to gather fresh momentum after the arrival of nine ships. Four ships, Ocean Starlight, Corin Thiakos, to unload and load containers, Reef Zanzibar to offload soyabean meal and Gulf Dova to offload lube oil.

Sailing on the other hand was modest as only one ship, PONL Malandi departed while Nippon Highway, Great Sky, Guang Huaman, City of London, Sun Ann, Kota Tegum and Corin Thiakos are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was modest owing to lesser handling of liquid tonnage, falling to 37,459 tons comprising 6,098 tons of export cargo including 3,398 tons of chrome ore and 31,361 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Shalamar, with general cargo, Flame, Kota Wyaja, Oriental Bright, Manhattan Bridge, Tai He, with containers, Thia Maoma, with coal, Mercs Komari, with 5,400 tons of soyabean meal, and Dan Tanassa, with steel coils.
