KARACHI: Flyover, bridge over Korangi road pledged

KARACHI, Sept 14: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has said that the city government will present two gifts, including a flyover and a bridge, to the people of Landhi and Korangi.

The Nazim was addressing at the inauguration of water supply project on Sunday in Chakra goth, UC-3 of Korangi Town. Chakra goth is a 40-year-old locality, but it was not provided with connections for water supply. On the directive of City Nazim, water supply lines are being laid in the area.

Mr Khan said that the city government had resolved numerous problems of the masses of Landhi and Korangi during the last two years. He said that a flyover would be built at Hino Chowk and a bridge over Malir river. After completion of these projects, he added, Landhi and Korangi would not be cut off from other areas during rains.

The Nazim said that work on the flyover and the bridge would be started this year under the Karachi development package for which survey and feasibility report would soon be prepared.

He said that the project of Bagh-i-Karachi in Malir would provide recreational facilities to area residents.—PPI
