HYDERABAD, Sept 14: At least 3,248 candidates from eight Sindh districts appeared in an aptitude test here on Sunday to gain admission to MBBS and BDS in the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences.
The candidates, 1,516 boys and 1,732 girls, appeared in the test on the lawn of Public School Latifabad held under the aegis of Bahriya University, Karachi.
Strict arrangements were made at the examination centre to avert chances of cheating.
One hundred seats have been reserved for Hyderabad district, 29 for Nawabshah, 32 for Naushahro Feroze, 29 for Mirpurkhas, 19 for (Tharparkar), 32 for Sanghar, 30 for Thatta and 29 for Badin district.
The provisional merit list will be announced on Sept 24 while the final one on Oct 6. The classes will start on Oct 15.
SU: The University of Sindh will organize a two-day national seminar on the Indus river system at its Jamshoro campus in Jan next year.
The seminar will focus on environmental, social and cultural issues of Sindh created after the water supply from the river was depleted.
Speakers from various universities, institutes, organizations and ministry of agriculture, water and environment will be invited to share their ideas on water resources.
ENTRY TEST: University of Sindh announced on Saturday that the pre-entry test for admission in M.Phil classes in various disciplines would be conducted at all-related departments of the university of Sindh on Sept 16 at 10am.
