GUWAHATI, Sept 13: Indian soldiers shot dead at least 10 separatist guerillas in northeast India’s troubled Manipur state early on Saturday, a police spokesman said.

Troops raided a village at Konkpi, about 45km north of the capital city Imphal, where a group of heavily armed rebels had set up their camp and killed 10 of them, he said.

“The special operation against the rebels that started early this morning is still on,” said the official.—Reuters
