KARACHI, Sept 13: All obstacles in the way of Local Government Support Officers of district governments in Sindh would be removed and the problems being faced by them would be resolved immediately.

This was stated by Adviser to the Chief Minister on Local Government Waseem Akhtar while addressing the LGSOs from 16 districts of the province at a meeting held in his office on Saturday.

He directed them to take effective measures to address people’s grievances. He cautioned them that no slackness or carelessness in this regard would be tolerated.

Mr Akhtar stressed that when local government bodies would become stronger, they could help solve the problems facing the people of the province and, thus, of the country.

He pointed out that basic problems related directly to local government organizations which must be strong enough to solve them. The adviser was of the view that devolution of powers was aimed at associating public with the government directly and this certainly would benefit poor people.—APP
