SADIQABAD, Sept 12: The Rahimyar Khan district education officer has issued a show-cause notice to the Liaquatpur deputy district education officer on charges of negligence and remaining absent from duty.

EDO (education) Rana Hazoor served a show-cause notice on the deputy district education officer (female) saying she was absent from duty without any information on the day when a wall of the girls primary school in Mauza Tahir Faqir collapsed and many students injured. She also failed to visit the site and the injured students.

It is learnt that the officer concerned has made a postdated entry for her three-day leave, but the EDO has not sanctioned the same.
