KARACHI: Scout course concludes

KARACHI, Sept 11: Boy scouts can play a vital role towards creating awareness among the people on issues of vital importance such as cleanliness, hygienic living, and diseases including HIV/Aids and polio.

This was stated by UNICEF Project Director Ms Shahla Rashiduddin while speaking at the concluding ceremony of the master trainers course for scout leaders here.

The three-day course was organised by the Sindh Boy Scouts Association in collaboration with UNICEF.

Ms Shahla said that in the past boy scouts had performed well in collaboration with UNICEF in the project of Oral Rehydration Therapy (ORT) which had produced quite encouraging results.

Twenty-five scout leaders drawn from Jacobabad, Khairpur, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Thatta and Karachi took part in the course.

Provincial Secretary of the Sindh Boy Scouts Association, Wali Mohammad Siyal, also spoke. Later, Ms Shahla distributed certificates among the participants of the course.—APP
