LAHORE, Sept 9: Only 16 students of the Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad, have submitted admission forms for the MBBS second professional examinations, being held by the University of Health Sciences for its affiliated colleges from Wednesday (today).
A UHS’ assistant controller of examinations along with security guards also visited the PMC on Tuesday to collect admission forms filled by the students.
Some PMC students told Dawn that the assistant controller had also said that the UHS might delay the PMC students’ examination.
UHS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Malik Husain Mubashir said that the university representative was still at the PMC to collect students’ admission forms. He said that the fate of PMC students would be decided on Wednesday (today).
It was learnt that the PMC administration had lodged an FIR against student Attaullah Qasmi on the charges of indiscipline. Mr Qasmi, the PMC Muttahida Tulaba Mahaz (MTM) president, is among the students who have moved the Lahore High Court against the UHS.
Meanwhile, the MTM announced that all college students will boycott the UHS’ second professional annual examinations.
In a news release issued here on Tuesday, MTM president Attaullah Qasmi said the students would boycott the UHS examinations.
He said the students would continue their legal struggle.
