PSA to hold World Open at old Lahore Airport
LAHORE, Sept 8: Punjab Squash Association (PSA) has selected the departure lounge of the old airport as the venue for the World Open to be held in December this year, says a PSA spokesman.
There were three other venues proposed, but the organisers decided the airport lounge, keeping security and weather as their top priorities.
The cold weather in December could hamper the championship if held at any open place, while appropriate security measures could also be taken easily at the departure lounge, he said.
Bagh-i-Jinnah, Lahore Fort and Lahore Garrison Golf Club were the other venues considered for the event.
