PESHAWAR, Sept 8: Governor Iftikhar Hussain Shah announced a development package worth Rs100 million for Bajaur Agency.

A press release said that the governor, while speaking at a tribal gathering in Pashat, 20 kilometres from the Pakistan- Afghanistan border, on Monday said that the newly-opened area would be developed in the least possible time.

The governor also announced a number of development schemes for the area, including 20 schools, two BHUs and two veterinary dispensaries.

Mr Shah, while inaugurating the construction of 20-kilometre- long road connecting Pashat with the border point at Letai Kandao, directed the authorities to prepare feasibility report for two roads.

The governor said that the government would never allow foreigners to use its soil for their own designs. He urged the tribesmen to remain vigilant and report the presence of any outsider to the political authorities.

MNA Sahibzada Haroonur Rashid assured the governor that the tribesmen would never compromise on the security of Pakistan. IGFC Maj-Gen Hamed Khan, Secretary to Governor Sahibzada Saeed Ahmad, Fata Security Secretary Brig Mahmood Shah and Political Agent Peerzada Khan also accompanied him.
