Smuggler killed


QUETTA, Sept 8: A drug smuggler was killed and two others injured in an armed encounter with Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), near Pakistan- Iran border in Turbat district.

The encounter took place late on Sunday night when smugglers were shifting their drug consignment to coastal area for its shipment to foreign countries, official sources said on Monday.

According to official sources the ANF staff on a tip-off raided the area and intercepted smugglers’ vehicles, followed by an exchange of firing. After half an hour one smuggler was found dead and two others received bullet injuries. However, the smugglers succeeded to cross into Iran and took away the body of their accomplice and injured.—Staff Correspondent
