KARACHI, Sept 8: A housewife was killed by unknown persons in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Monday.

Police said that victim’s husband, Mr Anwer Saleem, who returned to the house in block-6, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, on Monday evening, found the trussed up body of his wife Shamim Anwer, 46, hanging from the gas light outside the kitchen.

The police said that entire household items were scattered and a vehicle (G-6212), parked in the porch, was also missing.

However, the SHO, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Shazada Saleem, told Dawn no valuable was missing from the house.

He said that the culprits might be some familiar persons as there were no signs of by force entry into the house, besides remains of cigarette ash and tea cups were found in the drawing room. The police said that the victim was alone in the house when bandits came.

The body was shifted to the JPMC for the post-mortem examination.
