PBF in hunt for potential champions

KARACHI, Sept 6: Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) Coach Renaldo Alvaris planned a hectic schedule for national pugilists prior to next year Olympics, said President PBF Anwar Chowdhry on Friday.

He said while announcing the organising committee for national ranking tournament that they need potential boxers for the mega event and national ranking tournament would help a lot in the hunt of impressive boxers.

He said that performance of the national boxers in recently concluded Commonwealth Boxing Championship though impressive but in some weight categories they were lacking.

He said that by the help of national ranking tournament this month they would figure out talented boxers for the next month Greenhill International Boxing Championship.

He urged the departments and provinces to send their talented boxers in the national championship.

The organising committee for the national ranking tournament included Organising Chairman Shakeel Durrani, Organising Secretary Mohammed Akram Khan Mohammed Yaqoob Qambrani, Gulam Hussain Juma Khan in Technical Committee, Co-ordinator Mohammed Ismail while Salimul Haq was appointed as scoring incharge in the committee.—PPI
