Khurram and Daniyal blast centuries


KARACHI, Sept 6: Khurram Manzoor and Daniyal Ahsan blasted hundreds to power Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) to 388 for nine wickets in their first innings against Quetta on the second day of their three-day PCB Inter-regional Under-19 cricket championship match at Quaid-i-Azam Cricket Park Steel Town Saturday.

KCCA made 388 for nine wickets in their 90 over of their first innings in reply to Quetta’s first innings total of 238 for nine. When play ended for the day, Quetta were 33 for no loss in their second outing. Abdul Majeed was batting on 23.

Quetta is still 117 runs behind with all their ten wicket in hand.

Opener Khurram, who slammed a fine 95 in one-day game again excelled with the bat, hitting a superb 142 after facing 218 balls and batting for 279 minutes laced with 15 hits to the boundary and one over it.

Daniyal finished 102 not out after occupying the crease for 173 minutes and his knock contained just five boundaries.

Khurram was associated in two century stands, first putting on 121 runs for the opening wicket with Fahad Iqbal (64) and added another 141 runs for the fourth wicket with Daniyal.

Off-spinner Sanaullah was pick of Quetta bowling attack with four wickets for 102 runs in 27 overs. Fellow off-spinner Muhammad Umar took three wickets for 86 runs in 24 overs.
