PTTF on verge of split

Published September 6, 2003

LAHORE, Sept 5: Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) is on the verge of splitting into two federations.

A group headed by S.H. Shah, the current PTTF president, was to face a tough fight from the other group led by S.M Sibtain in the elections which were scheduled to be held in Lahore on Aug 15. The elections could not be held after the Lahore district secretary Shahjehan got a stay order against it.

Since Aug 15, efforts were made to settle down the issue. But the groups had been failed to reach accord mainly on a point whether to retain Shah as president or not. Shah had completed three tenures, consecutively. — By Our Sports Correspondent
