ISLAMABAD, Sept 5: The SAF Games secretariat has incurred an expenditure of Rs 411.856m todate, the National Assembly was told on Friday.
In a written reply to a question, the Minister of State for Sports Rais Munir Ahmed said that apart from the SAF secretariat, the Pakistan Sports Board’s (SSB) expenditure on the Games was Rs 87.238 million.
The total amount received by the PSB through sale of key chains was Rs 67.411 million out of which an amount of Rs 2.662 was retained by the Board. The balance of Rs 64.749 million, the minister said was paid against the total bills of the key chain scheme amounting to Rs 120.526 million. Liabilities of Rs 55.777 million are outstanding, the minister told the questioner.
On the other hand the Hero Card scheme earned the SAF Games secretariat Rs 55.241m.
Earlier, the minister said Rs. 34.7m were spent for the promotion of cricket and hockey during last three years.—APP
