ISLAMABAD, Sept 5: Interior Minister Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat informed the National Assembly on Friday that he had instructed the inspector-general of police, Punjab, to ensure registration of a case against the people who attacked a newsman in Lahore the other day.

The minister gave the assurance after a token boycott by the newsmen of the house proceedings in protest against the attitude of the police for refusing to register a case against those who attacked Aslam Dogar, an APP reporter.

The newsmen resumed their duties on the assurance of Labour and Manpower Minister Adul Sattar Laleka that strict action would be taken against the responsible persons.—APP
