LAHORE, Sept 3: A teenage boy succumbed to burn injuries in the Mayo Hospital on Wednesday.

Police said Shan alias Shani, 18, had been admitted to the hospital with critical burns a couple of days ago. He had been found unconscious in Factory Area.

His father Muhammad Munir told the police that Shan left his house in Rawalpindi along with his friends to visit the shrine of Data Ganj Bakhsh.

Munir suspected his son was kidnapped from the shrine and suffered injuries when he put up resistance. Later, he believed the youth was burnt.

The body was sent to the city mortuary for autopsy. No case has so far been registered.
