KHAAR, Sept 3: A man and his wife were killed and two others were injured in roof collapse incidents when a strong windstorm lashed Bajaur Agency on Tuesday night.

The windstorm, accompanied by torrential rains, continued for 13 hours, disrupting communications and electricity supply and razing houses and government installations in different areas of the agency.

In Khaar, the agency headquarters, Izzatullah was killed on the spot and his wife, Yasmin, injured when a portion of their house collapsed. Later, Yasmin died in hospital.

In an other incident, a young man, Inayatur Rehman, and his sister were injured when a portion of their house in Baicheena village near Khaar collapsed.

The windstorm also brought down the house of Maulana Habibur Rehman near the civil colony, Khaar. The inmates, however, escaped unhurt.

The boundary-wall of Agency Headquarters Hospital also collapsed.
