KARACHI: No clue to killers

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 3: Police on Wednesday failed to find a clue to the killers who gunned down six people in Yasinabad on Tuesday.

A senior investigator said that the police had found eight empties of a semi-automatic weapon, which were sent to the forensic laboratory to ascertain as to which weapon had been used.

“We are still not sure as to how many assailants came there. Either there were three motorcycles or four and either two men were sitting on each motorbike.”

“We are at the very initial stage of the investigation and it is now premature to say anything regarding the motive and the identity of the suspects”, he added.

Police have found an abandoned motorcycle in the nearby Yasinabad graveyard and are suspecting that the motorcycle might have been used in the attack.

They said some people have been picked up in connection with the killings.

Meanwhile, funeral prayers of S.M. Saeed and his two sons Tayyab and Mazhar were offered at a mosque in Yasinabad and they were buried in Yasinabad graveyard. Jibran was also laid to rest in the same cemetery.

The funeral prayers of Noman Iqbal were offered at Yasinabad and he was buried at Paposh Nagar graveyard. The coffin of Qari Yaqoob was dispatched to his native town Lodhran for final rites.
