KARACHI, Sept 3: Five ships carrying soyabean meal, containers, crude oil and to load naphtha are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Westerland, Kota Wangsa, to unload and load container, Sunset-K, to load chrome ore and Chemstar Eagle, to offload chemicals were berthed.

Three ships, Min He, Chemstar Princess and Igloo Star departed on Wednesday, while Shalamar, Chemstar Eagle, Westerland, Bunga Mastiga and Hyundai Star are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side thanks to larger handling of liquid tonnage, totalling 76,535 tons comprising 6,915 tons of export cargo and 69,620 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Sorena, with 70,000 tons of crude oil, Energy Century, to load 15,000 tons of naphtha, India Star, with containers, Puma, with general cargo, Mercs Komari, with 2,700 tons of soyabean meal.
