Pakistan, India asked to cut defence budget

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 2: South Asian labour leaders have called upon India and Pakistan to drastically cut down their defence expenditure, minimize risk of armed conflicts, and settle all their disputes through political dialogue and confidence-building measures.

The call has been made in the Karachi declaration adopted by the South Asia Labour Conference for Peace at the conclusion of its two-day session here on Tuesday. The conference was attended by delegates from India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
