By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 2: Zahra Daudi, a well-known professor and author, passed away in Canada on Tuesday after a prolonged illness. She was 81. Her four sons were at her bedside when she died.

Mrs Daudi was among the first female graduates of the Indian province of Bihar. She taught political science at the PECHS College for Women and was very active in the various teachers’ campaigns.

Mrs Daudi wrote two books, entitled Lazzat-i-sehra navardi and Girdab ki shanavari, which are both based on her reminiscences.

She had studied law formally and was actually a registered advocate. She was the daughter-in-law of Shafi Daudi, a well-known political leader. Her husband had died in the late ‘60s.
