Two girls killed in Indian shelling

MUZAFFARABAD, Sept 1: Indian shelling across the Line of Control on Monday killed two teenage girls while injuring four others, police officials said.

Fifteen-year-old Iram and 13-year-old Rukhsana Kosar were killed in the Chahi village in the Samahni sector of the southern Bhimbher district.The sector was targeted by Indian troops on Monday after a considerable gap.

In the Nakyal sector in Kotli district, shelling resumed in the morning without any cause or provocation. Indian troops targeted the civilian populations there, police said.

Four people, identified as Mohammad Zahid, 16, Mohammad Latif, 47, Rauf, 23, and Riaz, 35, were wounded in Nar Dabsi, Til Mera and Karela Majhan villages.

The Nakyal sector has consistently been targeted by Indian troops for the past two weeks, claiming the lives of at least a dozen people.
