First innings lead for Quetta

HYDERABAD, Aug 31: Quetta managed to obtain a first innings lead of 59 runs over Hyderabad on Sunday in the 3-day Inter-regional U-19 championship match at Niaz stadium on Sunday.

Jalath Khan claimed 4 for 52 and Zahoor Ahmed 3 for 70 to put their side in a comfortable position.

Earlier, at the close of play on Saturday Hyderabad lost its first wicket at 1/1. After winning the toss on Saturday Hyderabad invited Quetta visitors to bat first.

Quetta were 271 all out in 85.3 overs with Abdul Majeed scoring 78 runs with nine boundaries.

Wasim Qutub made 62 which included four 4s. Jalath Khan remained not out at 51 that was laced with five boundaries.

Kashif Bhatti claimed 5/74. Aamir Abbas 2/42 and Ghulam Yasin 1/62. On Sunday Yayah Tunio made 72.

He hit one six and five boundaries. Muhammad Ali made 42 with four boundaries. Both of them took their side score to 212 all out in 82 .2 overs.

Sanaullah claimed 1 for 39. When stumps were drawn Quetta resumed its second innings and lost one wicket for 30 as Yayha Tunio caught Abdul Majeed off Kashif Bhatti.

SUMMARISED SOCRE:

Quetta 271 for all out in 85.3 overs. (Abdul Majeed 78, Wasim qutub 62 and Jalath Khan 51 not out; Kashif Bhatti 5/74, Aamir Abbas 2/42 and Ghulam Yasin 1/62.) Hyderabad 212 for all out in 82.2 overs. Yayah Tunio 72, Muhammad Ali 42; Jalath Khan 4/52, Zahoor Ahmed 3/70.)
