ISLAMABAD, Aug 31: President of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), Syed Dilawar Abbas on Sunday expressed delight over Hamid- ul-Haq winning a double crown in the ITF Asian Veterans Open Tennis Championship in Thailand last month.

“I am happy that he has won two titles which goes to show that even as a veteran player he is contributing to Pakistan tennis,” Dilawar told Dawn.

Hamid while successfully defending his 40-plus title, also captured the 35-plus crown in the championship that is held each year in Pattaya.

“It is a great contribution by Hamid and I fully appreciate the hard work that he put in to win these two titles.”

Dilawar said that the PTF would continue patronising the players in whatever way it could in the future too. Hamid’s trip to Thailand was fully sponsored by the PTF.
