KARACHI, Aug 30: Hong Kong Hockey Association (HKSA) has dropped the idea of hosting Asian giants Pakistan and India in an international hockey tournament later this year following negative signal from the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF).
The HKSA had planned to invite Pakistan, India and England to join Hong Kong in the proposed tournament in November this year. The association had labeled the event as the Super Asia Cup.
However, a couple of other leading Asian hockey playing nations especially Malaysia raised protests against the event which resulted in the AHF involvement in the issue.
Now Hong Kong will host England, Japan and South Korea for the tournament to be played on Nov 15-16. —PPI
