Electricity Breakdown disrupts life

Published August 30, 2003

MIRPURKHAS, Aug 29: The power breakdown badly affected the water supply to the residential areas of the city as a result of which life was paralyzed on Friday.

A technical fault in the power grid station, Mirpurkhas, led to the power breakdown.

The water supply remained disrupted for several hours from the water reservoirs of the Public Health Engineering Department. Besides, sewage could be seen overflowing from the gutters as the pumping machines of the Taluka Municipal Administration had stopped working without the power supply.

The power supply from the Mehmoodabad, Satellite Town and Mirabad linking feeders remained suspended.

The areas that remained without electricity included Satellite Town, Mumtaz Colony, Yasrab Colony, Panhwar Colony, Jarwari Shakh, Bhansinghabad, Baloch Para, Rahim Nagar, Karim Town and Karimabad. Villages in the vicinity of the city too were without any power supply.
