Case against three ‘rapists’

By Our Correspondent

BAHAWALPUR, Aug 27: Yazman police have registered a case under Hadood Ordinance against three landlords for raping the daughter of a tenant in Chak 105-DB.

Police said Sadaqat Ali, Ghulam Nabi and Zafar Iqbal kidnapped the daughter of their tenant and raped her for many months. When she became pregnant, the accused arranged her abortion.

The girl’s father approached the police, but they refused to take any action. Upon it, the complainant submitted an application to the DPO who ordered registration of a case against the accused.

CONDEMNED: The PPP (Parliamentarians) has condemned what it called the ‘insulting attitude’ of federal minister of state Raza Hayat Heraj with PPP MNA Naheed Khan in the National Assembly.

A party meeting held here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of district president Riaz Dahar demanded that the NA Speaker should take action against the minister.

Meanwhile, CEC member Mohammed Husain Azad and other local PPP leaders also condemned the incident and demanded that Heraj should tender an apology to Naheed.

UPLIFT SCHEME: The district development committee at a meeting on Wednesday approved uplift projects costing Rs50 million.
