PESHAWAR, Aug 25: The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peshawar, Dr Zulfiqar Hussain Gilani, has stressed the need for an educational system in which the views of teachers should be considered in the reviewing and improving of curriculum.

He was speaking at the inaugural session of a five-day workshop organized by the Department of Statistics, to impart training to college lecturers at the Senate Hall of the university here on Monday.

The vice-chancellor said though college teachers had to follow the syllabus, their opinion and views should be sought in revising the courses.

He held out an assurance that the university would take a initiative in this regard and stressed that the courses should be regularly reviewed, revised and updated. Earlier in his address of welcome, Chairman of Statistics Department Prof Dr Salahuddin said the workshop would enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
